"As an Occupational Therapist with 30+ years of experience in treating individuals with musculo-skeletal & hand injuries, I believe that this glove developed by Sarco Enterprises will go a long way
to reducing or totally eliminating most hand injuries that result from being struck by a foreign object.

For sure, this garment when used appropriately, will eliminate the routine smashed fingers and hand problems. I have had the opportunity to utilize the protective glove while performing activities routinely performed in the Roustabout and Floorhand/Roughneck position on a drilling rig including the operation of tongs and slips and have found that it provides significant protection to the hand without interfering with the work being performed. The glove will still allow the individual to perform functional gross hand activities that one would be able to perform while wearing the more traditional dot gloves. However, this glove also provides the individual with protection from trauma to the dorsum of the hand, thumb and fingers."

"As a practicing hand surgeon in Lafayette, Louisiana I have treated numerous hand injuries arising out of the oilfield activity over the years. As a way of avoiding or at least minimizing the severity of these devastating injuries I truly believe the Sarco Impact Glove is the answer."

I've had the opportunity to take a look at a prototype of the glove Sarco Enterprises has designed. I think it's a very clever design. It preserves full functional usage of the hand while protecting the fingers and dorsum of the metacarpals from crush injuries. In addition to preserving normal function of the hand, I think this would be a valuable piece of personal protection equipment while using heavy machinery.
